DECRYPTION – Several independent traders are boycotting the event and criticizing the consequences of unbridled marketing on their business.
Black Friday, Black Week, Black November… The end-of-year promotions never stop going on. While 30% of French people still plan to take advantage of discounted prices to do their Christmas shopping, the National Clothing Federation (FNH) is sounding the alarm. The organization which represents independent ready-to-wear businesses is calling for a boycott of the 2024 edition which will be launched on November 29. “We encourage independent fashion boutiques, brands and designer designers to support this initiative”declared Pierre Talamon, president of the FNH, in a press release.
