Product recall: popular Advent calendar removed from shelves

Indeed, the latest recall concerns a product that is particularly popular as the end-of-year holidays approach: the Celebrations Advent calendarmarketed by Mars Wrigley Confectionery France. Intended to bring a touch of daily magic until Christmas, this product, sold since September 12, 2024, is unfortunately in default with French regulations.

This calendar, distributed in many brands including Auchan, Intermarché, Carrefour, Coop U, Cora, Monoprix, Schiever, Stokomani and Migros. In Overseas, this Advent calendar was distributed to: Nouvelle Sopri, Scagex, Morgan Vernex, Lim How Brothers et Bamyrag. It contains popular sweets like Mars, Snickers or Bounty. However, the mandatory information on allergens (barley, eggs, milk, peanuts, soy, wheat) does not appear in French on the packaging. This exposes consumers, particularly children, to significant allergic risks.

What to do if you are affected

If you have purchased this product, it is strongly recommended that you do not consume it. As the Rappel Conso site specifies, the risk for the consumer is a “allergen risk, for consumers with allergies to the following ingredients: barley, eggs, milk, peanuts, soy, wheat”. You can also contact the brand's consumer service at 09 69 32 06 80 to obtain compensation in the form of vouchers. This gesture allows Mars Wrigley Confectionery France to assume its responsibility while raising consumer awareness of the importance of clear labeling.

If you've already consumed these Christmas chocolates, don't panic. Unlike other more frequent product recalls, this is not a bacterial contamination but simply a labeling error.
