Eleven days of mobilization, agreements and a recovery. On “indefinite” strike since November 7, employees at the Strasbourg factory of automotive supplier Dumarey Powerglide returned to work this Tuesday.
“Management, in the presence of the shareholder Dumarey, negotiated with the CGT CFDT inter-union the financial measures of the Employment Protection Plan (PSE). Discussions […] were very tense between the parties. The rate of strikers was still 90% this morning at the time of the choice of resumption. The majority of strikers formed in a general assembly voted for the return to work,” announced the inter-union in a press release.
From the start, it fought to obtain better departure conditions for the 248 employees made redundant as part of a restructuring announced at the beginning of October. The CGT and the CFDT have obviously obtained them.
“Employees will be able to leave with a sum of between 20,650 and 50,650 euros depending on their length of service in the company. Added to this are conventional legal compensation. Furthermore, in the coming days, employees will receive a bonus of 1,500 euros for the end of the conflict”, writes the inter-union which also indicates that “the envelope for PSE measures has increased from 60 million to 75 million euros.”
The Strasbourg Dumarey Powerglide site, located at the port of the Rhine, today employs 584 people.
