According to our colleagues, the operator is negotiating a voluntary departure plan dedicated to the company's seniors. The objective: to remove “thousands of employees” from the company by 2033.

A departure plan for the benefit of young people

The plan was not planned, but Orange is indeed seeking to renew part of its workforce for the benefit of young engineers, capable of working with new technologies. For this, between 8,000 and 10,000 employees out of the operator's 65,000 could benefit from “senior” part-time work that can be activated five years before their retirement date. They will thus be able to work at 50% the first year while retaining 70% of their salary, the objective being that they can leave the company for the following four years being paid at 60%.

The fear of an “overload of work” for those who remain

This news worries the unions, especially since Orange did not wish to communicate on the expected number of departures or on the planned recruitments. They fear in particular an overload of work for the employees remaining on the job, in particular due to the gloomy context currently weighing on the telephone company: around thirty attempts and suicides have taken place there over the last two years, according to a Franceinfo investigation. revealed this Wednesday, November 13.
