Resale of tickets at a price higher than that announced: Billets.ca and its president targeted by criminal proceedings

The show ticket sales platform Billets.ca and its president, Éric Bussières, are the target of criminal proceedings reporting 26 infractions.

The Consumer Protection Office (OPC) announced Wednesday, by way of a press release, the notification of 26 violations by the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) against Billets.ca and its president.

The Billets.ca platform will be liable to a fine provided for by law, for each violation, ranging between $2,000 and $100,000 and between $600 and $15,000 for its president if they are found guilty.

The OPC criticizes them, in particular, for having resold show tickets at a price higher than that announced by the seller authorized by the producer of the show, we read in the press release.

He also accuses them of having resold a show ticket which was not in their possession or under their control.

The alleged offenses are believed to have been committed between November 2022 and September 2023.
