The ride was discovered in the fall of 2023 thanks to a few photos published on a Facebook page. On a page which presented itself as specializing in the sale of shoes and products from the famous brand with red soles Christian Louboutin, photos of the new collection were published. An employee discovered this publication and immediately alerted the Louboutin company. The collection in question was not officially launched… The luxury company then realized that the models presented had been stolen from a showroom on rue du Louvre in Paris.
Faced with the situation, Louboutin then decided to send a private detective to the United States to try to trace the author of the photos. A name emerges. The man behind this publication manages to reach an agreement with Louboutin, he agrees to denounce the investigator of this traffic in exchange for dropping the charges against him. He gives the name of a young woman, a 30-year-old Frenchwoman. The latter is in reality a former employee of the company. She is coordinator of the brand's merchandising operations and the rue du Louvre showroom. She is the one who allegedly stole more than 719 pairs of shoes and 700 models of leather goods for a total amount estimated at nearly 1.5 million euros. Since July, the latter has probably left the company and now works for another luxury brand.
Investigations are being carried out into the accounts of this young woman. The police officers from the 1st DPJ, in charge of the case, discovered more than 400,000 euros in suspicious transfers to his account and that of one of his accomplices, residing in the United States. In total, the young woman would have received more than 125,000 euros by transfers. A sum much higher than the coordinator's income.
The investigation ultimately led to a search at the young woman's home in early November. On site, the police discovered nearly 200 items: shoes, leather goods, etc. In addition to Louboutin products, investigators got their hands on pieces from other luxury brands. In total, around 150,000 euros worth of goods were found with this employee specializing in the fashion field. According to our information, the young woman would have implemented the same ploy in the luxury company where she now works, since August 2023.
The young woman was taken into police custody and presented before the Paris court on November 6. This Thursday evening, she was indicted and placed under judicial supervision. The investigating judge and the Paris prosecutor's office had requested pre-trial detention. Contacted this Wednesday, Me Saïd Harir, the employee's lawyer, did not wish to speak.
