New – A revised, more premium look for the NMAX 125, and a new Tech MAX version with TFT screen

New 2025

The NMAX 125 2025 and the NMAX 125 Tech MAX (the latter is a new variant) definitely fit into the sporty MAX family at Yamaha.

Small change of direction for the Japanese brand therefore, starting from the NMAX which was initially designed as essentially urban, and which becomes more aggressive in its look. And the addition of a Tech MAX version allows you to attract a wider audience!

Therefore, a question arises! What will become of the XMAX 125? If Yamaha’s press release is anything to go by, the sporty DNA of the king TMAX 560 lives intensely in the NMAX 125 and NMAX 125 Tech MAX. However, this was already supposed to be the case with the XMAX 125, more comfortable and more spacious than the small NMax, and above all sportier.

Coming back to the NMAX 125 version 2025, the overall design features a new front end with new dual projector headlights and integrated LED turn signals Plus an LED tail light described as elegant. This gives the NMAX 125 a strong and dynamic look, purely MAX.

As we said in the introduction, the engine developing 12.2 horsepower at 8000 rpm perfectly meets Euro5+ standards. Equipped with Yamaha’s Blue Core technology and variable intake timing, the NMAX 125 is not very “greedy”. Its 7 liter tank will allow the pilot to travel nearly 300 kilometers.

The primary purpose of the NMAX 125 being urban, it has traction control, useful in the event of rain or on cobblestones, or other city traps.

Additionally, the 13-inch lightweight alloy wheels feature a wide 130/70-13 rear tire and a 110/70-13 front tire, which provide good grip, according to Yamaha.

On the practical side, this scooter has a storage box to accommodate a scooter-type helmet and other objects… Another open storage space is located at the front on the left, with a USB-C charger located at inside this compartment. A third, closed compartment is on the right, still at the front. The NMAX has also been equipped since the last update with the Start & Stop function (read our last test, which dates from 2021).

Plus, the Smart Key keyless start system makes life easier. The NMax 125 still offers a dashboard with a 4.2-inch LCD screen connected via the MyRide application.

A small novelty consists of the presence of a USB-C type electric charging socket at the front, instead of the 12V socket which was delivered with the scooter until now.

A Tech MAX version

The NMAX 125 vintage 2025, as we have said, offers its prestige version, logically called NMAX 125 Tech MAX.

This version incorporates all the specific features of the NMAX 125 while adding high-end functions.

We are mainly talking here about an integrated 4.2-inch diagonal color TFT dashboard, topped by a 3.7-inch LCD screen.

A dedicated logo shows its belonging to high-end products and finally the Tech Max comes with a high quality, profiled two-seater saddle, with a black imitation leather cover, gold stitching and imitation suede details.

The NMAX 125 offers two colors for 2025: Iron Black (black with blue rims) and Milky White (white). It will be available from January 2025.

The new Tech MAX version offers two exclusive colors: Ceramic Gray (gray-white) and Dark Magma (black-brown), and will be available from May 2025.

The prices of the two 2025 versions of this scooter are not yet known. We will publish them as soon as we know them.
