Compared to other European countries, a large number of voters in Switzerland, around a quarter, would have given their vote to Donald Trump. This is significantly more than, for example, in Scandinavia and in the countries neighboring Switzerland, showed a poll by the Gallup institute relayed by the German-speaking titles of Tamedia before the American presidential election. The survey was carried out in 43 countries among 41,000 adults.
In Switzerland, 61% of respondents supported Kamala Harris. A quarter (25%) would have voted for Donald Trump. In Western European countries, only Great Britain and Greece, with 27 and 33% respectively, had a higher rate in favor of the Republican.
In Denmark, for example, only 4% were in favor of Trump, compared to 7% in Finland and Norway, 11% in the Netherlands, 13% in Germany and France, 16% in Austria and 18% in Italy. Support for Trump, on the other hand, was high in Eastern Europe: in Serbia, Hungary and Bulgaria, almost half of those surveyed would have voted for the billionaire.
