Live on TV, man saves life of driver trapped in floods

In the United States, an impressive rescue was filmed live this Wednesday by the WDSU channel in New Orleans, Louisiana. A man trapped in his pick-up truck, submerged by water, was rescued by a resident, as Hurricane Francine hit the city, reports Sky News.

The scene was commented live by a journalist from the channel, Jonah Gilmore. When the vehicle sank into the water, he called out to a police officer who was nearby. But it was a passerby who jumped into the water to help the driver. “You can see this guy breaking the window,” Jonah Gilmore commented live. The driver then slipped through the window to get out of his pickup. He was brought to safety by his rescuer, while waiting for the firefighters to intervene.
