The CLCV consumer association brought complaint against X for “deception” and “deceptive commercial practice” in mid-October with the Paris public prosecutor’s office, as part of the illegally processed bottled water scandalaccording to information from franceinfo collected from the association this Saturday.
After Foodwatchit is the second consumer association to file a complaint in this case, in which Nestlé groupsproducer of Perrier or Contrex, and Almaproducer in particular of Cristaline, are directly cited.
The CLCV hopes for the opening of a preliminary investigation
In its complaint, the CLCV considers that the implementation of treatments prohibited on mineral waters constitutes “a very significant attack on consumer rights“.
Until now, only the Epinal public prosecutor’s office (Vosges) has taken up this case before settle it with a financial agreement with Nestlé. At CLCV wishes in particular that the Public Health Center of the Paris Prosecutor’s Office opens a preliminary investigation to determine whether, beyond the deception, the health of consumers could have been compromised.
Contacted by franceinfo, the Paris prosecutor’s office is not at this stage able to say whether it has received the complaint from the CLVC.
According to the “flash” information mission launched in April 2024 by the Senatefollowing the revelations of the newspaper Le Monde and the investigation unit of Radio France, Nestlé cheated “in full view and knowledge” of everyone, notably several members of the government, by treating water contaminated by bacteria with prohibited filters.
