PSG-Brest or a hint of the Champions League for the resumption of Ligue 1

Paris SG, leader and the only team with three wins, host Brest, last season’s surprise, on Saturday (8:45 p.m.) on the 4th day of Ligue 1, after the international break, and while the fans’ anger against the broadcaster DAZN remains strong.

. The match: PSG – Brest, Ligue 1 Champions League version

After a completely missed start to the championship and two stinging opening defeats, Brest, the surprise team of last season which finished in 3rd place and qualified directly for the Champions League, is experiencing its newfound form against Paris SG.

The Bretons, who will launch their first C1 campaign next Thursday against the Austrians of Sturm Graz, will have a full-scale warm-up when they travel to the Parc des Princes on Saturday to challenge PSG.

Eric Roy’s team won 4-0 against Saint-Étienne on the previous matchday, just before the international break.

This Saturday, Paris SG stands before them, already installed at the top of Ligue 1, the only team with three victories in as many days played and whose attackers are in form: scorers against Belgium in the League of Nations (France victory 2-0), Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembélé avoided a crisis for Deschamps’ Blues.

The step seems high for the people of Brest.

The fact: protest movements against broadcasters expected this weekend

Neither the international break nor the promotional offer of 19.99 euros per month proposed by DAZN, the main broadcaster of Ligue 1, have eased the anger of supporters against the initial price of the subscription to the British sports streaming platform, which they consider prohibitive (29.99 euros).

A police note, consulted by AFP, was sent on Wednesday to the various territorial police services as well as to numerous prefectures to alert them to possible actions by supporters during the next day of the championship.

. The number: 5, Mason Greenwood, serial scorer

With 5 goals, Marseille recruit Mason Greenwood is at the top of the scorers’ charts and will once again be OM’s lethal weapon, against Nice, on Saturday (5:00 p.m.), in the other match of the day.

Banned from Premier League clubs due to complaints of sexual and physical violence made by his ex-partner in January 2022, Greenwood, despite his current form, is nevertheless not expected to make his return to the England team.

New Three Lions manager Lee Carsley has taken advantage of the international break to say the former Manchester United prodigy is not in his plans.
