You don’t have to be in the air to be afraid on a plane. The passengers of a Boeing 787-9 which had just landed on the tarmac of Chicago’s O’Hare airport had reason to be terrified this Thursday, October 17 in the afternoon. The aircraft had just crossed the Atlantic, having started its flight at Heathrow airport, details The Sun.

As the plane was slowing down after landing, a baggage container was caught in the engine of the right wing of the plane. The container and the luggage it included were obviously crushed in a matter of seconds. The engine was also heavily damaged.

Very fortunately, the damage was purely material, with no casualties reported. The passengers were also able to leave the aircraft safely and without any particular difficulty.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation to understand the reasons for this strange accident.

At first glance, it appears that the container was accidentally detached from a truck that was supposed to take the luggage further.

The incredible secret behind the plane’s seat belt signal: the flight attendants use it to… monitor you!

The aircraft was removed from service for inspection. A measure that seems full of common sense!
