Record attendance at the Quebec RV Show

The 30e edition of the Salon du VR has broken all attendance records since its existence and experienced an increase of 12% since last year.

«The show was a real success this year, we are all really happy,” exclaims Steve Lapierre, general director of the Association of Recreational Vehicle Dealers of Quebec.

Thousands of people with their heads full of ideas for the next vacation wandered this weekend through the impressive vehicles that sometimes make you dream at the Quebec VR Show.

What explains this crowd success is that many young families visited the show this weekend, a clientele that had become rarer in recent years due to high interest rates, as mentioned in The Journal Friday.

Several families with children were present at the RV show this Saturday, November 2.

“We are seeing an increase in the number of small families visiting the show. We can see it by looking at admissions, but also by the number of strollers that we can observe,” mentions Steve Lapierre.

This is the case, for example, of Anthony, Alexandra and their 1-year-old son, who look at the array of RVs on display. However, they plan to wait until the birth of their second child before making the purchase. But they are starting to plan this year.

The return of young couples and young families can be explained by the drop in interest rates which is occurring gradually. “When interest rates are high, and you add the inflation rate, it’s not that people are not interested in buying an RV, but they risk prioritizing their house payments or their car, for example,” explains Steve Lapierre.

In addition to giving hope for the future of the RV market, the return of this customer base means an increase in the sale of trailers and smaller vehicles, which small families will often prioritize. This delights several dealers who sell this type of motorhome.
