Saudi budget airline flyadeal is exploring the possibility of ordering between 10 and 20 wide-body aircraft to carry more passengers, and could make a decision by the end of the year.
The low-cost subsidiary of national carrier Saudia is in the early stages of comparing the Boeing 787 with the Airbus A330neo, Steven Greenway, the company’s CEO, told Reuters. It has not yet launched a formal competition among aircraft manufacturers, he added.
The value of such a deal could reach around $5 billion at list price, although airlines typically get deep discounts. (Reporting by Tim Hepher, Lisa Barrington; Editing by Jan Harvey)
