A decision completely contrary to the ecological imperative. The airline L’Odyssey, a subsidiary of the Jet Airlines group, announced a few days ago the opening of seven new routes from Nîmes airport (Gard). These connections, effective from May 2025 and throughout the summer season, concern the cities of Nice, Barcelona, Ajaccio, Milan, Geneva, Verona and Bastia. The price of tickets will be less than 100 euros for one way, said the company, which will open sales in a few weeks.
If, in 2023, Nîmes airport welcomed 252,000 passengers, the objective is to reach 400,000 travelers by 2028, according to Franck Proust, president (LR) of Nîmes Métropole, the agglomeration holding 87 % of the platform.

These new connections do not deviate from the law prohibiting domestic flights when an alternative by train which takes less than 2.5 hours is possible. Only three lines are affected by this regulation: Paris-Orly/Nantes, Paris-Orly/Lyon and Paris-Orly/Bordeaux.
