He was the very first Belgian to own the Tesla Cybertruck but the joy was short-lived: “The interest was enormous”

Tesla Cybertruck windows peel like a banana

One of the advantages of the Cybertruck praised by Elon Musk was its gun-resistant windows. But apparently you don’t need a gun to break into the pickup.

It works significantly less well, obviously… – DR

Bad surprise for a Tesla Cybertruck owner. He found his vehicle with the driver’s window hanging out of the door, and the backpack left inside had of course disappeared. The man immediately went to the Facebook page dedicated to the model, and shared the video taken by one of the on-board cameras. As we can see, it only took a few seconds for the thief to open the window like peeling a banana. This is already disappointing for a vehicle that is called “armored”, but it can get worse.

No alarm

At no time during the theft was the owner of the Cybertruck notified. An intrusion alert is however planned on the Tesla smartphone application, but it has not reacted. No more than the audible alarm fitted to the vehicle. Information taken, it turns out that the alarm only sounds if you force a door or the tipper side, not in the event of broken glass. And for good reason: Tesla did not anticipate that we would find the flaw in these indestructible windows. Moral of the story? Never underestimate the inventiveness of thugs, and above all never leave anything visible in a car.
