A delegation from the Chinese industrial Dongfeng Automobile Corporation went to Casablanca, to visit Global Chinese Motors, a subsidiary of Bugshan Automotive Group. The visit also included the SORIAC assembly unit in Berrechid, as part of a strengthening of the partnership between the two countries.
Dongfeng also seeks to “explore the opportunities that Morocco offers, both as a growing market and as a logistics center for Africa,” said a press release. “This initiative aims to promote in-depth economic cooperation, develop local industrial capacities and stimulate innovation in the transport sector,” adds the same source.
The delegation’s visit was an opportunity to sign a memorandum of understanding between Dongfeng and Global Chinese Motors, “opening the way for ambitious projects”, including “the creation of a training academy specializing in automotive technologies, designed to serve Africa” and create qualified jobs.
“A logistics hub for the export of spare parts to Africa is also envisaged, consolidating Morocco’s position in this sector. In addition, DONGFENG will share its electric mobility solutions with Morocco by introducing electric and hybrid vehicle models, meeting the growing needs for sustainable mobility.
