“Security threat”: Air India flight makes emergency landing in Iqaluit

An Air India flight from Delhi, India, to Chicago, United States, on Tuesday made an emergency landing at Iqaluit, Nunavut, airport due to threats posted online .

The landing took place without incident and the passengers were picked up by the airline at the airport.

Air India confirmed that this flight had been the subject of threats, requiring the crew to act accordingly.

“Flight Al127 […] was targeted by a security threat posted online and, as a security measure, landed at Iqaluit Airport, Canada,” Air India said in a statement published on X.

This is not the first security threat the airline has received in recent days.

“Even though these threats turned out to be hoaxes, as a responsible airline, we take all threats seriously,” it added. We deplore the inconvenience this may cause to our customers.”

Passengers on the flight will eventually be able to take off from Iqaluit again to get to their destination.
