Risks of breakage while riding: Decathlon bikes are subject to a recall

Bicycles sold by Decathlon are being recalled due to a defect in one of the parts.

Decathlon bicycles are subject to a recall. They have a defect on one of the carbon parts of the cockpit, which can cause part of the cycle to break when in full use, according to Consumer Recall.

Marketed between August 14 and September 18, 2024

Only one model from the Van Rysel brand, belonging to Decathlon, is concerned: the XCR UCI which exists in several sizes (S, XS, M, L and XL). In detail, all references from batches 3583787294185, 3583787294208, 3583787294215, 3583787294222 and 3583787294307 are subject to a recall.

The lots were marketed between August 14 and September 18, 2024, only online. People in possession of one of the recalled references are invited to no longer use the product, and to contact the brand’s after-sales service to obtain a refund or repair. The recall procedure will end on Thursday April 10, 2025.
