The inaugural flight by Royal Air Maroc (RAM) of its new direct Casablanca-Toronto route is scheduled for December 8. This is what the magazine confirms Challenge, indicating that this new service is capable of strengthening the African vocation of the Kingdom and its desire to further connect the continent with Canada and, more broadly, North America.
The Casablanca-Toronto service is the national airline’s second direct airline in Canada, thus strengthening RAM’s Americas network, which currently has direct flights linking its Casablanca hub to Montreal, New York, Washington, Miami and São Paulo, which will be reinstated from December 7.
Operators on both sides of the Atlantic are already preparing for it.
During a ceremony organized Wednesday evening in Toronto, at the initiative of the national company, many of them expressed their enthusiasm. The Moroccan ambassador to Canada, Souriya Otmani, affirmed that “This direct flight is likely to promote new opportunities for businessmen, academics, artists and citizens on both sides of the Atlantic.
«This is an important moment in relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Canada“, underlined the diplomat, noting that the event marks a major step in strengthening ties between the two countries, and beyond, with several Arab, African and European countries. This opens up new perspectives for regional and international cooperation and exchanges.
«The choice of Casablanca as a strategic hub for Royal Air Maroc underlines Morocco’s central position, not only in Africa but also as a bridge between continents.», added Otmani.
This new direct line to Toronto adds to a vast international network, consolidating and confirming Morocco’s pivotal role in world trade. For his part, RAM’s regional representative in Canada, Nour-Eddine Ezzairi, noted that this new line, which will be operated at three frequencies per week, illustrates the company’s ambition to expand its network and will strengthen its positioning.
