2024 Motor Show – Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback: a coupe for more style and more autonomy

The Q6 e-tron is entitled to its Sportback coupe variant. The plunging shape of the silhouette promotes autonomy.

While Mercedes is thinking about cleaning up its coupe SUVs, Audi continues to offer a truncated silhouette of its adventurers, including the electric ones. A few months after its debut, the Q6 e-tron is showing itself as a Sportback at the Motor Show.

The recipe doesn’t change, we take the starting Q6 and we redesign the roofline. The design team even revised the windshield pillars, which made it possible to lower the car by 37 mm. The pavilion plunges towards the rear, forming a continuity with a more inclined bezel. The latter is highlighted by a spoiler. The trunk then marks a break at the level of a large light strip. At the front, we find the closed Singleframe grille and the black or silver mask which surrounds the headlights, their main part being thus hidden.

No surprises in the driving position, identical to the classic Q6 e-tron, with a presentation that gives pride of place to the screens: one of 11.9 inches for the instrumentation, one of 14.5 inches in the center and a of 10.9 inches facing the passenger. To this can be added an augmented reality head-up display, with information that seems to “float” 200 m upstream of the vehicle.

The change will necessarily be at the rear, with slightly less easy access and a few centimeters less headroom. The trunk is 511 liters, barely less than the normal Q6 (526 liters for it). Audi offers an optional 64-liter front trunk.

Four technical variants will make up the range from launch. In the “base” version, we have a 185 kW unit, or 252 hp, associated with a battery with a net capacity of 75.8 kWh. The rest of the offer receives a 94.9 kWh battery. With it, we first have a “performance” model with a 225 kW (306 hp) rear engine. The quattro model has two motors to achieve 285 kW (387 hp). Finally, the top of the range is a sporty SQ6 version, with 360 kW (489 hp). There, we go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

The lower and more plunging silhouette is good news for autonomy, which improves a little. With the small battery, it is 545 km. With the big battery, we go from 607 to 650 km, as the power obviously drops. The classic Q6 e-tron goes up to 639 km.

Thanks to its 800V architecture, the Q6 e-tron Sportback highlights large recharging powers, up to 270 kW. In ideal conditions, you can go from 10 to 80% charge in 22 minutes. Note that the towing capacity can reach 2400 kg.

Orders will open in November. But we already know that the base price will be €74,570 with the “small” battery. Then the big one will start at €79,800. The SQ6 is announced at €102,270.
