Airtel equips its network with turbines in Jammu Kashmir and Leh Ladakh for superior voice and data connectivity

Bharti Airtel Limited announced that it has completed the deployment of additional spectrum it acquired in July 2024. Deployment of additional 5 MHz on 2100 band and additional 3.8 MHz on 900 band will provide a boost to the capabilities of Airtel’s 5G/4G network which, in turn, will improve and strengthen data speeds and provide much better coverage inside homes and buildings, both in urban and rural areas. The deployment of additional spectrum is now complete and hence customers in Jammu, Srinagar, Leh Ladakh etc.

will benefit from better quality of service, both for voice and data. The deployment will also enable Airtel to offer wider coverage along highways and railways, as well as increase its footprint in rural areas, as the demand for connectivity continues to increase exponentially. Bharti Airtel secured 97 MHz of spectrum in the recently concluded spectrum auction.

It not only repurchased expired frequencies, but it also expanded its SubGHz spectrum and effectively consolidated its fragmented frequency blocks into one continuous spectrum. Airtel has the merit of holding the largest number of mid-band frequencies. With its diverse positions in the 900, 1800, 2100 and 2300 bands, the company is well positioned to meet the growing demand for high-speed data services with 5G and 4G networks.

It recently began repurposing mid-band spectrum for 5G to meet growing demand for data services.
