A disruptive passenger on a flight between Agadir and Lyon refused to comply with the instructions of the cabin crew while smoking on board the aircraft, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Spain, where he was arrested by the police.

Leaving Agadir shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, EasyJet flight EJU4484 bound for Lyon had to make an unscheduled stop in Spain. The plane made an emergency landing at Malaga airport after an hour and a half of flight. No mechanical problem involved, but the “disruptive behavior of a passenger on board”indicates the company at Figaro.
“The crew of the Agadir-Lyon flight informs us that they have on board a very disruptive passenger who does not obey the crew’s instructions”had alerted a Spanish air traffic monitoring account via a message published on the social network

The newspaper Progress specifies that the man smoked on board the aircraft and was in a state of intoxication. Waited by the police at the foot of the plane, he was arrested by Spanish agents. The plane was then able to take off again and the passengers arrived at Saint-Exupéry airport in Lyon a little before 8 p.m., almost three hours late.

“Although such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate any disruptive behavior on board,” responded EasyJet.
