Aixam acquires a new production unit
If the European automobile industry is having a bad time overall, this is not the case for Aixam. Faced with strong growth in its markets, the manufacturer of license-free vehicles has just acquired a brand new production unit in Andancette, in Drôme. This new site will make it possible to increase production by 15% to reach, initially, 23,000 vehicles manufactured per year, then in the medium term, 30,000 units.
ArcelorMittal inaugurates its new furnace in Fos-sur-Mer
On September 26, ArcelorMittal Méditerranée inaugurated the pocket oven installed at its Fos-sur-Mer factory (Bouches-du-Rhône). Around 470,000 cumulative working hours and the mobilization of 150 people, at peak activity, were necessary to implement this investment of 76 million euros. It must reduce CO2 emissions from the manufacturing of its 130 steel grades by 10% from 2025.
45-8 Energy inaugurates the first helium plant in Western Europe
It is the first helium factory in France… and Western Europe. The start-up 45-8 Energy has inaugurated its first helium pilot plant in Saint-Parize-le-Châtel, in Nièvre. This is only the beginning for the young Moselle company which is seeking to raise funds to increase the number of factories by 2030.
Onward Medical, the European that challenges Neuralink
Elon Musk’s start-up Neuraling could be overtaken by a European. Arriving on Euronext Paris on September 24, Onward Medical should market a first medical device by the end of the year in the United States and in 2025 in Europe. Known for having made a paraplegic man walk again using a brain implant, the European start-up is getting ahead of its noisy and controversial competitor.
Caeli Energie opens its low-carbon air conditioning factory
Air conditioning, without the guilty conscience. The Isère company Caeli Energie opens on Friday September 27 in Grenoble, a production line for its Caeli One air conditioner, intended for the residential and tertiary sector. An air conditioner without refrigerants, without heat rejection to the outside and an electricity consumption which would be five times lower than that of conventional air conditioning. The small 1,100 square meter factory is located in former General Electric premises.
The SME Cycleurope taken over by the Rebirth group
Cycleurope can continue to roll. On September 26, following a favorable decision from the Troyes commercial court, the Rebirth group, which owns several bicycle brands, announced the takeover of the SME. The group, which already has a factory in Saint-Lô (Manche), is therefore increasing its industrial capacity by acquiring the last Cycleurope factory in Romilly-sur-Seine (Aube).
