How to make something new out of something “old”

This first model was named F&F&F, for Friends, Family and Fools, and produced in an edition of 99 pieces. “We really didn’t know what the market reaction would be, so we first offered it to our relatives and friends who were collectors, at a price of 2333 fr. 33. And to our great surprise, it sold out in no time, despite the little promotion we had done beforehand,” recalls Amr Sindi. It was then the beginning of 2024, and a few weeks later the great watch fair Watches and Wonders was held. And there, while Kollokium was unknown to anyone except a few insiders, the entire small world of watchmaking began to buzz around this very innovative watch. “We hadn’t anticipated such a reception. We had started from the idea of ​​the product and its innovation, more than anything else. We never talked about a brand, it was always a project. We never talked about a development strategy. Basically, we knew from the beginning that it would be difficult to finance the development and tooling costs with these first examples,” continues Manuel Emch.
