African Digital Summit. The strengthened African vocation and AI at the heart of the debates

3,000 participants and 70 speakers, 40% of whom will be women, are expected at the African Digital Summit 2024. These forecast figures mark a significant increase compared to the previous year when the ADS brought together more than 2,800 participants from 47 countries, including 27 African countries, and 65 international experts.

“Artificial intelligence will be at the heart of the event,” announces Youssef Cheikhi. The president of the Moroccan Advertisers Group (GAM), which organizes this benchmark event, is keen to point out that both the opportunities offered by generative artificial intelligence and the challenges it imposes will be taken into account.

The continued evolution of the ADS demonstrates the organizers’ desire to strengthen Africa’s digital integration and encourage synergies between African countries to address the common challenges of digital development. The pan-African turning point marked by this mobilizing event is not limited to a simple change of name, but is reflected in a rethinking of the objectives and expectations of this event, which has become an essential meeting place for decision-makers, entrepreneurs, investors, and digital stakeholders.

One of the highlights of this edition will be the presentation of the African Digital Awards, which this year fully embraces the African dimension of the summit. These awards, created to reward excellence in the digital field, will honor initiatives, companies and actors that contribute to the growth of the African digital ecosystem. These distinctions aim to encourage the development of an inclusive and sustainable digital economy in Africa.

In addition to generative AI, marketing and branding, advertising and creativity, as well as e-commerce and Retail Media will be the subject of discussions that promise to be enriching. Also on the agenda are keynotes from representatives of major international platforms such as Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Salesforce, among others. In view of the major sporting events that Morocco will host, the CAN in early 2025 and the 2030 World Cup that the kingdom is co-organizing with Spain and Portugal, sports marketing and gaming will be in the spotlight. Also on the agenda are exclusive masterclasses that are intended to be very inspiring.

In addition to conferences and panels, networking sessions, workshops and demonstrations of innovative digital solutions will be organized, offering participants a unique opportunity to share their experiences, develop partnerships and discover the latest technological trends and innovations.

Among the new features this year, the “Digital Garden”. This technological hub will be dedicated to innovative startups who will have an unexpected opportunity to present their solutions and products to an audience of investors, partners and potential customers.

That’s not all, two studies will be unveiled at this summit to provide valuable insight into digital trends in Morocco and the future of work in Africa.

“Digital Trends Morocco 2024” will be the result of a survey conducted among more than a hundred advertisers to highlight the major trends in digital advertising strategies and technological innovations.

“Futur of Work” is the title of the second study, the conclusions of which will be presented at the ADS on the basis of a survey conducted among around a hundred HRDs. It will explore the fundamental changes brought about by digital technology in the professional world, particularly with regard to talent management, the evolution of skills, the digitalization of work processes and the new organizational models emerging in the digital age.

The development of digital technology in Africa is a strategic lever for economic growth, job creation and improving living conditions. The African Digital Summit is part of this dynamic by offering a platform for reflection and action for stakeholders in the sector.
