Matin
The cold front is moving away in the Mediterranean with the return of beautiful clearings over 3/4 of the country. The sky is still cloudy in the southwest, and instability is setting in over Corsica.
Minimum temperatures are low after a night under fairly clear skies in many regions. Expect only 4 to 5°C towards the Ardennes, compared to 20 to 21°C in Mercantour and Corsica under stormy instability.
Afternoon
The sun returns to the south of the country with beautiful clearings and calm weather, except in Corsica where instability continues. Beware of the mistral which blows very strongly, up to 110 to 120 km/h on the exposed capes. The tramontane is less strong, between 70 to 80 km/h, locally 90.
In the northern half, a cloudy sky is setting in with clear spells and showers, sometimes stormy locally, particularly between the Paris basin and the north-east.
Temperatures are plummeting despite the clear spells, under this northwesterly flow. Expect between 13 and 15°C in the northern half, compared to 16 to 24°C in the southern half.
Soirée
The weather is calm over 3/4 of the country. Instability continues in the extreme southeast with a risk of hailstorms. The mistral is still blowing very strongly in its domain.

The wind will still blow in a storm this Friday in the Mediterranean with instability. Everywhere else, the weather is becoming calmer with the swelling of the high pressure ridge from the west, especially in view of the weekend.
