15-year-old runaway shot dead in Las Vegas, suspect showed gun to friend on FaceTime

Drama – The shooter came to defend his friends. He was arrested by Las Vegas police two days later

James Lobue, a 15-year-old runaway boy from Bismarck, North Dakota, was tragically shot dead in an apartment where he was staying in Las Vegas on September 2, according to USA Today. The runaway teen had taken refuge with a friend on a girlfriend’s couch.

The stepfather, not being happy that these two young people had taken up residence in his living room, woke them up by pouring a glass of water on their heads and ordered them to leave. Except that Browdy Lee Shaffer, older brother of the runaway’s traveling companion, does not see it that way.

A FaceTime demonstration and an accidental shooting

He allegedly arrived at the apartment armed with a semi-automatic weapon, to avenge his little brother who had been “unfairly watered”. At the same time, he allegedly made a FaceTime call to a girl, showing her his firearm and playing with the light and laser. During this demonstration, a shot was fired, and James Lobue was allegedly hit in the torso.

After the shooting, James Lobue collapsed at the apartment door. The occupants, including Browdy Lee Shaffer, initially tried to help James, but panic led Browdy Lee Shaffer to quickly leave the scene before the police arrived. James Lobue was rushed to the(…) - 20minutes
