The profession of real estate agent attracts many professionals because of its income potential and the diversity of its missions. He must both make clients want to buy or rent a property (apartments, houses or commercial premises) and reassure them. Assigned to a specific geographical area, he knows the real estate market like the back of his hand: nature of the properties available, purchase price per square meter, working-class neighborhoods, etc. He is omnipresent at each stage of the sale: evaluation of the property, publication of the real estate advertisement, visit of the property, negotiation of the sale price.

To become a real estate agent, you must have at least a bac +2 (BTS real estate professions or notarial legal collaborator). In France, the gross annual salary of salaried real estate agents varies between 22,970 euros and 24,392 euros, according to the salary scale of the real estate collective agreement (2024). This is a fixed monthly remuneration, whether or not he succeeds in selling properties to the client.
