Rockwell Automation, Inc. announced the opening of its Digital Center of Excellence in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, strengthening its commitment to the Kingdom and growing the local economy and workforce. The CoE will help the government and local businesses, large and small, improve their operations, which is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to strengthen economic growth, technical progress and sustainability. Is the center of excellence dedicated to processing industries?
oil and gas, mining, metals and water? focusing on accelerating the pace of digital transformation that the Saudi government is encouraging and optimizing maintenance operations for the industry. To coincide with the opening of the center, Rockwell Automation is hosting a decarbonization conference on September 26, 2023 at the Movenpick Hotel Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
This seminar will share experiences on decarbonization, including carbon capture and storage, electrification, emissions monitoring and management through measurement and control technologies, and digitalization methodologies. The center of excellence will include two interactive zones. The first takes the visitor on a digital journey explaining how technology can improve maintenance operations using the example of a pump.
Using Microsoft HoloLens and a smartphone, visitors will be guided through a seamless pump repair and maintenance experience. This experience will use Vuforia® – an augmented reality solution, IOT platform, ThingWorx, Kepware? a sensor connection solution, and Fiix, a computerized maintenance management system, all of which are linked to the ERP system.
-The second zone, dedicated to the oil and gas sector, brings the connected oilfield to life with three interactive demonstrations that highlight the production improvements possible through intelligent automation and how Sensia’s products enable increase operational efficiency and asset productivity. Sensia is a collaboration between Rockwell Automation and Schlumberger, bringing together Rockwell Automation’s pioneering process automation, real-time control and IoT technologies, with the measurement and instrumentation, software and analytics capabilities of Schlumberger. The first demo highlights electric submersible pump (ESP) diagnostics, testing and forecasting.
-Visitors will be able to see how data from five wells is collected, analyzed and how vital information is obtained using Avalon – the open technology platform that underpins Sensia’s new range of autonomous, automated and connected solutions, from Avocet – the production operations software that provides a field level decision support system, and from OFM – the well and reservoir analysis software.
The second demonstration presents production allocation and water injection management for natural flow wells. She uses Avalon for data visualization and tracking before showing how Avocet takes that data and runs the workflows. The final section will show how flood management can be effectively controlled using OFM.
The final demo will show how Avalon and Eye Met can be used for custody transfer and uncertainty management live on the platform.
