Fed up – The mayor (PS) of Lomme, a commune associated with Lille, wishes to join a bill tabled a year ago, to change the legislation on reception areas for travellers

Fed up with “constantly playing the police”. After having identified “twenty-five installations in the city in recent weeks”, the mayor of Lomme, a town associated with Lille, in the North, is stepping up to demand a change in the legislation on travellers and reception areas. A year ago, a bill on the subject had already been tabled on the same subject.

“As part of this bill proposed by the Moselle MP, Ludovic Mendès [Ensemble]I asked to be heard to share my experience on the ground and make concrete proposals,” underlines the mayor (PS) of Lomme, Olivier Caremelle, in a press release.

The elected official more or less echoes the argument of the Macronist MP on the need to strengthen the powers of the authorities to expel those who do not respect the rules, but also to further force mayors to respect the obligations of reception areas.
