REVELATION – The American justice system has made public charges against Hamas leaders for “terrorism”. The accusations concern acts committed over several decades

The US Justice Department officially revealed on Tuesday the existence of charges against six senior members of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas for “terrorism.” In total, six Hamas leaders, including its former political leader Ismail Haniyeh, assassinated in Tehran on July 31 in an operation attributed to Israel, as well as his successor Yahya Sinwar, are targeted by these charges issued on February 1 by a federal court in New York.

The charges filed by the New York court relate to acts of terrorism committed by Hamas over several decades, including the bloody October 7 attack. The charges target these leaders for their role in planning and executing what the United States calls a “campaign of mass violence and terror” waged by Hamas.

More than thirty years of violence

Merrick Garland, the US Attorney General, explained that these charges cover Hamas attacks over a period of thirty years, during which the organization “murdered and injured thousands of civilians, including dozens of American citizens.” He added that “this weekend, we learned that Hamas murdered six additional hostages(…) - 20minutes
