LEO bags intended for sorting plastic waste are a resounding success, rejoices Echandens.
Since January 1, a new line for recovering plastics of all types has been open at the Echandens sorting center. With the exception of PET beverage and spray bottles, almost all types of plastic can be collected: packaging for laundry and cleaning products, protective films and food films, Tetra Pak, plastic bottles of all types (oil, vinegar, sauce) cosmetic packaging or even thermoformed plastics (eggs, biscuits, fruit, meat).
Based in Grandson, the company LEO Recycle has been operating since last summer to sort plastic packaging and beverage cartons locally. With specific bags, purple color.
And the enthusiasm is there, rejoices the municipality of Echandens on its website. “The population dropped off the first LEO bags during the holidays!”
If each household received a free copy at the end of last year, requests to purchase bags are also already being felt. They are currently sold in rolls of 10 pieces or individually for containers of 35 l (1.80 francs per unit) and 60 l (3 francs per unit) to the municipal administration. The 17 l and 110 l bags are victims of their success and will be available again from mid-February.
