A Swiss flight linking Stockholm to Zurich had to land unexpectedly in Frankfurt on Sunday. Loss of pressure from an oxygen cylinder is the cause.
The Airbus A320 took off from the Swedish capital at 6:30 a.m. and began its descent around 95 minutes later. The plane arrived in Frankfurt at 08:38. The landing was carried out as a precaution for security reasons, Swiss confirmed, returning to information from TagesAnzeiger.
Nothing serious
The problem occurred with the oxygen bottle intended to supply the cockpit crew in the event of an emergency. However, the pressure never fell below the prescribed minimum until landing, the company said. The passengers suffered no consequences.
The 59 passengers were able to be transferred to flights to their final destination from Frankfurt, a Swiss spokesperson said. The affected plane returned empty to Zurich after the problem was resolved in Frankfurt.
