The diversified nature of the Canadian food sector does not easily determine the possible impacts of a tariff war with the United States on the food of Canadians, according to Caroline Durand, professor of history at Trent University in Peterborough.
-« It is extremely difficult to imagine an overall impact on the food of Canadians because the food sector is very very diverse. It is difficult to have a global portrait of what could happen. »
The professor thinks that the impact will vary from one food to another since the different sectors of food are not regulated in the same way.
