“Lakay Nou”, season 2: As charming as ever!

To counter the cold outside, you can now immerse yourself in the heat of the Antilles with the second season of Lakay Nou, which has just landed as a premiere on ICI Tou.tv’s Extra. After a delightful first season, the whole team is doing it again with an even more touching and charming second season.

In this sequel, we find the Honoré and Prospère families who we missed so much. Still stuck between two generations, Henri and Myrlande are trying more than ever to make their place in this world, despite the pitfalls that place themselves on their path. Henri’s restaurant, the Our homeis still a popular and critical success. Enough for Henri to decide to enter a prestigious culinary competition that could propel him even further. However, his stress and anxiety also seem to be reaching new heights. How will he manage to navigate this new situation, while facing the judgments of his Haitian family?

For her part, Myrlande is considering the idea of starting her own law firm while her parents are going through a slack period. All these beautiful people will find themselves gathered under the same roof, for better and for worse… These are the bases of this new season which always addresses the themes of family, origins, emancipation, the quest for self to which are added those of mental health, the view of others and marital difficulties.

Always picturesque, the characters of Our home will charm you at every turn, being both authentic and hilarious. Once again, we can count on the insecurities of Henri (Frédéric Pierre), the great oratorical flights of Father Honoré (Fayolle Jean), the tireless enthusiasm of Jude (Stanley Exantus) for everything that does not require effort, unpleasant comments from Father Prospère (Marcel Joseph) and more.

In this broth, well spiced like a good joumou soup, the actors are all excellent, notably the unique Fayolle Jean who makes us smile, even laugh, with each of his lines. We must also salute the appearances of Richardson Zéphir who continues to be the remedy for all ills by playing the truculent Father Moses. Obviously, all these actors could not shine as much without a good script. Once again, Frédéric Pierre and his accomplices do a great job on this side, with a simple story, but one that hits the target and warms the soul. Behind the camera, Ricardo Trogi makes sure to wrap everything in an invigorating and colorful atmosphere.

This second season of Lakay Nou should not disappoint anyone. And slowly, this proposal in the colors of Haiti takes a beautiful place in our hearts and our living rooms, as was the case with Discussions with my parents before it. Television that feels good, like sunbathing!

The 10 episodes of the second season of Lakay Nou are now available on ICI Tou.tv Extra.
