These are perhaps the real objectives of Donald Trump when he threatens his trading partners with customs duties of 20 to 60%, which are above all solid negotiating arguments.

The American president confirmed it on Monday January 20, once back in the Oval Office: he intends to implement customs duties of 25% on Mexican (and Canadian) products. But from February 1, and not on the first day of his mandate, as he had previously threatened to do, in order to save time for negotiations.
