The “Made in Jura” cinema has been in full swing for several months.
Indeed, between the films of the Larrieu brothers, based on the novel by Pierric Bailly, Jura writer “Le Roman de Jim”, and the film by Franck Dubosc “Un Ours dans le Jura”, also filmed in our department, there is “Vingt Dieux » by Louise Courvoisier, who also traces her furrow magnificently.
The latter takes a tender look at rural youth. And the casting was mostly actors, made up of amateurs, locals, who had no experience in the 7th Art. This freshness or unconsciousness of new, natural individuals gives strength and truth to the film by the Jura director.
The main one is a cheese maker in a second life…
If Clément Faveau plays a larger-than-life Totone and Luna Garret an equally credible little Claire, the eyes of many local spectators were turned when André appeared on the screen as Totone's head cheesemaker. And everyone can recognize in the guise of his character, Hervé Parent the principal of the 'Collège du Plateau' in Lavans-les-Saint-Claude for 4 years. Indeed, the principal from Doubs, because he was born in Besançon, arrived at the College for the start of the 2021 school year. Married and father of three children, he lives in Orgelet.
-“I was selected for the casting of the film shot in the area, while I attended a concert by the 'Chorale Dilettante' in May 2023 in Orgelet. The people in the film were looking for people to act. And apparently they liked my profile, after confirming a few photos.”
So, to his great surprise, he was recruited for a second career, apparently for his greatest happiness.
In all sincerity, the principal plays his role as cheese boss very well. If you haven't done so, run quickly and see this film, we can no longer “made in Jura”.
