Five people were injured this Friday, January 17, after an accident between two cars in the town of Bellegarde-Poussieu, in Isère. Two young victims, aged 5 and 7, were treated in an absolute emergency by emergency services.

Shortly before noon, this Friday, January 17, two cars collided on departmental road 51C near the town of Bellegarde-Poussieu, in Isère. The violent collision left five people injured, including three children.

A 5-year-old girl was transported in absolute emergency, by helicopter, to the -Alpes hospital center, in La Tronche.

A second young victim, a 7-year-old boy, was transported by Smur to the Edouard Herriot hospital in , after being thrown from his car at the time of the incident.

A final child, a 10-year-old boy, was more lightly injured and was transported to Vienna hospital.

The driver of this first vehicle, a 79-year-old woman, was slightly injured. Just like the driver of the second car involved, a 25-year-old man. They were both treated and transported to hospital, Isère firefighters said this Friday evening.

The operation required significant resources and the RD 51C was blocked for part of the day. A gendarmerie investigation will have to determine the exact circumstances of this accident.
