Amazon has placed an order for more than 200 eActros 600 electric trucks from Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
This is of course the largest order in Amazon's history, but also the largest order for electric trucks in the history of the German manufacturer. These electric vehicles will be integrated into Amazon's transportation network in Germany and the United Kingdom starting this year, where they are expected to transport more than 350 million packages annually. The trucks will be used on high-mileage routes, connecting Amazon's fulfillment centers, sorting centers and delivery stations.
The eActros 600 is equipped with a battery of more than 600 kWh, giving it a range of around 500 kilometers with a total weight of 40 tonnes. This range can be extended through recharges during mandatory driver breaks, allowing the truck to travel more than 1,000 kilometers per day under certain conditions.
The design of the eActros 600 is minimalist with optimized aerodynamics, and it aims to set new standards of profitability for fleets. Mercedes-Benz Trucks also offers a holistic solution with vehicle technology, consulting, charging infrastructure and services under the TruckCharge brand.
-Prior to this order, a prototype of the eActros 600 was tested by Amazon in Germany, providing crucial data for series production. The eActros 600 was also named “International Truck of the Year 2025”, highlighting its importance in the sustainable transport sector. Series production of this model began at the end of 2024 at the Wörth-am-Rhein plant.
