« Following Decree No. 2024-1075 of November 27, 2024 relating to the certificate of the right to drive securely, the Restricted Information Statement (RIR) gives way to the Certificate of Rights to Secure Driving (ADCS). » explains Master Le Dall.
What is it for?
« Until now, two documents could be downloaded from the site https://mespoints.permisdeconduit.gouv.fr/bienvenue. The complete information statement, very useful for knowing all your point withdrawals and being informed of all decisions concerning us. And a second document, the Restricted Information Statement, which went into less detail and which you could send to your employer, your insurer, etc. without revealing everything about your driving license. » explains Master Le Dall.
What does this new certificate bring?
« This certificate allows any motorist to verify the validity and extent of driving rights. The ADCS specifies the categories of vehicle that you can drive and indicates whether or not your driving rights are suspended. »
« It will also be used to share this information with an insurance company, for example, or an employer. But it will also allow you to replace your driving license in certain situations. » explains Master Le Dall.
Can it be used in the event of a traffic stop?
« With this certificate, you can drive in the event of loss or theft of your driving license, while awaiting the reissue of a new title. You can also use it abroad to exchange your driving license. It can be used to create a new digital driving license on the France Identity application. » adds Maître Le Dall.
« This certificate serves as a driving document in the event of an inspection. If you didn’t bring your license with you, or if you lost it for example. This certificate must be accompanied by a valid identity document. » specifies our lawyer, Maître Jean-Baptiste Le Dall.
