Increase for retirees who receive a small pension
This million French people are on small pensions.
Depending on salaries that retirees received or periods of interruption during their professional career, the moment of retirement can lead to a significant drop in income. But from what amount of pension can we talk about “little retreat” ? And who can claim this increase of 100 euros gross monthly in their pension?
A monthly amount less than 1. 352 euros for a single person (and less than 2,100 euros for a couple) defines, at present, a small retirement.
This amount includes all pensions that public and private sector employees receivedas part of the basic and supplementary schemes.

Since September 1, 2023, the date of the retiree reform, small pensions have seen an increase relative to the number of quarters contributed. This increase can go up to 100 euros gross per month for retirees who have contributed at least 120 quarters. But the accumulation of the pension and the increase cannot exceed a certain ceiling. The latter is 10.170.86 euros gross in 2024, or 847.57 euros per month.
Furthermore, to receive this increase, the total retirement pensions must then be less than this ceiling of 1,352.23 euros per month since May 1, 2023. In the event of an excess, the increase will therefore be reduced pro rata.
Receiving a small pension therefore has a considerable impact on the daily lives of these retirees.
In 2025, another revaluation is planned. However, it could be less generous. Indeed, the executive aims for a balance between financial support for retirees and respect for budgetary constraints.
Financial and social assistance
Several devices exist to boost the purchasing power of retirees who receive a small pension.

In particular, having the legal retirement age and having validated the required number of quarters (or reaching 67 years old). And, touch a total pension amount less than 1,352.23 euros per month (since May 1, 2023).
