Police arrest three Twint scam perpetrators in Friborg

Three people, one of whom posed as a Twint employee, were arrested in the act of scamming at the home of a 70-year-old woman.

The Friborg cantonal police arrested three individuals in the act of committing a Twint scam last weekend. This arrest comes after the report of a 70-year-old woman, the police explain in a press release.

On January 4, 2025, the victim was contacted by telephone by a person posing as an employee of the Twint payment application, asking him to give money to a courier who would come to his home. She contacted the police, who arrested an 18-year-old man on the spot in flagrante delicto.

Two accomplices, aged 19 and 20, were also arrested in a vehicle registered in . The suspects were placed under provisional arrest and an investigation was opened.
