The first official day of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was full of big announcements. Held each year in Las Vegas, CES brings together companies of all sizes, from large multinationals to startups, who present their new products, prototypes and concepts. One of the industries that always innovates at high speed is undoubtedly that of the automobile industry.
This year, during CES 2025, Sony took the opportunity to unveil its first electric car, the Afeela, marking its official entry into the automobile market.
A marriage between entertainment and performance
This five-door sedan is the result of a collaboration between Sony and Honda, combining Sony’s technological expertise with Honda’s automotive experience. With this vehicle, Sony is emphasizing user experience by integrating its entertainment services, such as music, games and video streaming, directly into the car’s infotainment system.

In terms of performance, the Afeela is powered by an electric engine developed in collaboration with Honda, offering an estimated range of 482 km before having to stop for a recharge. The car would also be compatible with Tesla terminals. In addition, Sony’s electric car comes automatically with a three-year subscription to AFEELA Intelligent Drive, a driving assistance system.
As of this announcement at CES, the AFEELA 1 is available for purchase via a $200 refundable deposit, with first deliveries expected sometime in 2026, in California, USA for now. The starting price of the AFEELA 1 is set at $89,900 for the Origin tier.
