This week, Brussels becomes the world automobile capital for the 101st edition of its show, which will be held from January 10 to 19. Some 63 manufacturers are making the trip there (i.e. 15 more than in Paris), including almost all of the heavyweights on the European market with the notable exception of Land Rover, Jaguar (for excuses…), Volvo and Ferrari. For the rest, from Dacia to Bugatti via Mercedes (which will exhibit 22 cars!), Tesla, DS, Porsche or Toyota, everyone will be there. A good reason to head north, especially since the rather simplistic layout of the show has the immense merit of being able to exhibit numerous vehicles on each stand.
The atmosphere is more that of a large dealer exhibition, which allows you to see the cars clearly, than that of a “motor show” which is certainly spectacular but where it is sometimes very difficult to approach this or that model. It should be noted that the surface area of the show is 56,000 m2, compared to 70,000 m2 at the Paris Motor Show.
On the program, 5 world premieres, 14 European premieres and 7 concept cars including the electric Twingo, the interior of which we will discover for the first time. However, even if it is a prototype, it faithfully foreshadows the highly anticipated production model, which will be released in early 2026. Other stars announced: the DS N°8 (750 km of electric range!), Mercedes CLA (still camouflaged), Cupra Terramar, Fiat Grande Panda, Abarth 600e, Lancia Ypsilon (including the Rally4 HF competition version), Alfa Romeo Junior (including the Q4), Renault 4 and other Citroën C3 Aircross.
Finally, let us point out that the car of the year will be revealed on Friday morning, a few hours before the show opens to the general public. Who will win in 2025? According to the vote of Caradisiac readers, it is the Renault 5/Alpine A290 duo which has every chance of winning, ahead of the Citroën C3/ë-C3 and the Dacia Duster. So many models who will also make the trip to the Heysel Palace, entry to which will be charged €15 for adults, €10 for 10-15 year olds, and remains free for the youngest. A large part of the Caradisiac editorial team will be there, and will present to you the main new features of this show which is on the way to establishing itself as one of the major European events.
