Wednesday, December 18, the Municipal Council met for the last deliberations of the year and the first consisted of validating the change in statutory risk insurance of the employer, the latter being the municipality which employs the municipal agents, and this is CDG 17 (Management Center) which is proposing this change because the proposed new company is a better bidder (best technical score obtained).
This meeting was used to define the new municipal rates for 2025 and elected officials decided to increase them by 3% based on inflation in recent years but also on energy expenditure.
School meal price unchanged
Concerning the various municipal halls, this increase will only concern those administered or outside in a private capacity and the numerous associations in Mortagne will continue to benefit from the free admission.
For school prices, they will not change and the price of the meal in the school restaurant will remain fixed at €2.95, while the cost of preparing and delivering these comes to €35,000 per school year for 30,000 euros recovered as part of their payment by the beneficiaries, which leaves an annual deficit of 5,000 euros for the municipality's finances.
For municipal services proposed for the cemetery and the port, prices will only increase by 3%. On the other hand, the daily rate for motorhomes which had not changed since 2020 will increase from 9.90 to 12 euros, thus aligning with those charged in Meschers-sur-Gironde.
During various questions, Stéphane Cotier, the mayor of the town, informed the elected officials that due to the retirement of a permanent technical agent scheduled for next March, a contract worker was recruited full-time for six months initially on a fixed-term contract, who will take up his position on January 1st. Another recruitment for eight hours a week was also carried out for an agent who will take particular care of the surroundings of the cemetery and the church.
