This Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Tarik Hamane, Director General of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) and Mrs. Janne Rajpar, Director of KREDITANSTALT FUR WIEDERAUFBAU (KfW) in Morocco signed a contract of loan granted by German cooperation through KfW for a total amount of 50 million euros.
This loan concerns the financing of a climate-resilient Drinking Water Supply program which aims to secure and strengthen the supply of drinking water in several urban areas (Ghafsai, El Hajeb, Ain Legdah, Bouderbala, Souk Lgour and M ‘Haya) as well as improving the performance of drinking water supply systems in several regions of the Kingdom.
This financial assistance is part of a fruitful and diversified cooperation between ONEE and German cooperation in the drinking water sector which dates back to the early 1980s, with integration of the resilience component in terms of production of drinking water.
