Dozens of correctional officers gathered Friday to pay tribute to their colleague who was seriously injured by an inmate at the Sorel-Tracy detention facility in early December.

“In a prison environment, health and safety issues at work are numerous and can have very serious consequences,” recall in a joint press release the Union of Correctional Services Officers of Quebec (SAPSCQ–CSN), the Federation of Employees and public service employees–CSN, the Central Council of Montérégie–CSN and the Confederation of National Unions.
