Tic-tac, tic-tac… Noëlit's (already) in less than two weeks. You may be one of those who have already completed their gifts… or, on the contrary, you are racing at the moment to finish your shopping.

Fortunately, the Internet has the advantage of finding ideas in just a few clicks. But until when can you shop being assured of receiving them on time for the holidays? Overview of the main e-commerce sites.

December 20 and 21, deadlines for La Poste

On a war footing for months to anticipate this period of peak activity, The Post Office is clear: if you need to collect your gifts, don't delay!

It must be said that the group expects “more than 100 million Colissimo, 50 million Chronopost and 19 million parcels from DPD France in the months of November and December”, the group calculates fromactu.fr. That’s nearly 170 million packages “to sort and distribute”.

THE Colissimo must be delivered to the post office “no later than Friday December 20, 2024”, tells us the group, which assures that it has also strengthened its road connections and its delivery rounds for the period.

Same story for packages transiting via DPD France. They must be picked up “no later than Friday December 20, 2024”, estimates La Poste.

Finally, Chronopost undertakes to deliver packages collected by Tuesday December 24 “no later than Saturday December 21, 2024”.

Amazon, until the same evening (under conditions)

The e-commerce giant is one of the preferred solutions for Christmas gifts. Do you choose Amazon to help you complete your purchases?

Know that a standard delivery means that you will receive your package “in three to five business days between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.,” reads Amazon’s delivery guarantees. All items offered by Amazon are eligible for this delivery method. A quick calculation: to be delivered on December 24 last carat, order before Tuesday December 17, 2024.

The priority delivery allows you to shorten the delivery time. Allow three working days to receive your package. “Delivery is made between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Sundays in eligible areas,” emphasizes Amazon. Deadline therefore set for Thursday December 19, 2024.

If eligible, same-day deliveries are made for orders placed before the cut-off time indicated on the product page. Priority shipping is available for most items shipped by Amazon.

Certain territories (Île-de-France, Lille and Lyon) can also benefit from a “same evening” delivery. Amazon reminds you that “if an item offers a same-night delivery option, this is [affichée] during the order process, as well as on the order verification and validation page.

Same evening delivery takes place between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., Monday to Sunday. It is also available on public holidays in Paris, Lyon and Lille, except January 1st, May 1st and December 25th.

At Fnac, from December 19 to 24

Many people will scan the websites of Darty and the Fnac to finalize their Santa lists. But here too, don't delay: you only have a few days left to be assured of delivery on time.

According to Fnac, here are the deadlines to respect:

• Until December 19, 2024: parcel relay deliveries in two to three working days (for any order before 11:59 p.m.) or standard deliveries in two to three working days (for any order in the region before 11:59 p.m.);
• Until December 20, 2024: standard deliveries in two to three working days (for all orders before 11:59 p.m.)
• Until December 21, 2024: “express” deliveries within one working day as well as “1 day in store” collections (for all orders in the region before 6 p.m.);
• Until December 23, 2024: “express” deliveries in one working day (for any order in Île-de-France before 11:59 p.m.) and “1 day in store” retreats (for any order in the Ile-de-France region at 11:59 p.m.);
• Until December 24, 2024 : “1 hour in store” collections (for all orders before 5 p.m.), as well as evening delivery and delivery in 2 hours flat or by appointment (for all orders before 12 p.m.).

At Darty, (also) between December 19 and 24

Like Fnac, Darty offers a certain deadline to finalize its latest purchases. In detail, to be sure of receiving everything before Christmas, you must order on Darty.com :

• Before December 19, 11:59 p.m.: for parcel relay delivery and rapid home delivery;
• Before December 20, 10 p.m.: for free in-store collection in the region;
• Before December 21: for express home delivery in the region (for any order before 6 p.m.) and for express delivery to a relay point (for any order before 12 p.m.);
• Before December 22: for free in-store collection in Île-de-France (for all orders before 10 p.m.);
• Before December 23, 11:59 p.m.: for express home delivery in Île-de-France;
• Before December 24: for “1 hour in-store collection” (for all orders before 5 p.m.) and for 2-hour home delivery (for all orders before 12 p.m.).

Cdiscount, between December 16 and 19 last carat

Purchases made on Cdiscount are also subject to a deadline to be assured of having them under the tree on the big day. With the holidays fast approaching, the French group has detailed its delivery guarantees on its site.

Thus, for the small packagesthe deadline to be respected for delivery on Tuesday, December 24 is:

• December 18, 11:59 p.m. (for withdrawals from relay points);
• December 19, 11:59 p.m. (for home deliveries).

If you benefit from express delivery, this deadline is extended: December 20 at 12 p.m. (at collection point) and December 23 at 12 p.m. (home delivery).

Are you thinking of ordering a big parceland requested home delivery? Bad news: it's probably already too late and your bulky gift won't arrive in time for Christmas. In fact, the order deadlines for these packages were between December 5 and 11, 2024.

However, if, on the delivery page after the basket, you see delivery slots offered, good news, depending on your department, you can place an order until December 19 to be delivered before Christmas!

If you prefer delivery to a collection point for your large parcels, the order deadline is December 16 (normal delivery to collection points throughout France). To benefit from a little respite (from December 20 to 23), opt for delivery to an express collection point.

For greater security, look for products sold on the site displaying the badge “Guaranteed delivery before Christmas”. Indeed, “for these products, you have the possibility of being delivered for Christmas for any order placed until December 23, 12 p.m.”.

“Each e-retailer can give their deadline”

And again, these are the sending and delivery deadlines specific to La Poste. If you rely on peer-to-peer purchasing platforms, such as Vinted or Leboncoin, to make your final purchases, there is no guarantee that your reseller will be very responsive…

“For purchases from e-retailers, everyone can give their deadline, which includes order preparation,” La Poste opines withactu.fr. Don't wait until December 20 and 21, 2024 to finalize your list for Santa!
