The underground work and surface development phases have been completed, in accordance with the announced schedule. The final decorative marking of the roadway will be carried out next spring.
The construction equipment has disappeared from Rue Louis-de-Savoie: the work is completed and the street has been returned to its population and businesses. Only the final decorative marking of the roadway, planned for late autumn, could not be carried out due to weather conditions. This definitive marking will be carried out in spring 2025. The temporarily painted patterns will then be replaced by a colored surface.
Multiple achievements
The schedule announced during the information session in March 2023 has therefore been kept. As a reminder, here is everything that has been undertaken since June 2023, over 18 months:
- Replacement of outdated drinking water and natural gas pipes in poor condition;
- Extension of the watering network;
- Extension of the municipal electricity network, optimization of the lighting network and installation of reserve optical fiber tubes;
- Improvement of distribution and fiber optic networks by Romande Energie and Swisscom as part of municipal works;
- Reinforcement of the road structure of the roadway and installation of a sound-absorbing coating;
- Compliance of the “Casino” bus stop according to the LHand law;
- Installation of 8 new terraces and 30 garden modules with wooden seats;
- Revegetation of the street with 13 new plantations;
- Installation of 34 bicycle racks and 2 charging lockers for electric bicycles;
- Installation of two charging stations for electric cars;
- Implementation of a 30km/h zone for rue Louis-de-Savoie, the quays of Mont-Blanc and Jean-Louis-Lochmann and adjacent streets.
The City of Morges thanks local residents for their patience and understanding regarding the nuisance during the work.
